Free Tax Counseling Continues This Week In Potter County

Free tax counseling and preparation for Pennsylvania taxpayers with low and moderate incomes – particularly those age 60 and older — remains available from AARP tax aides at three Potter County locations.

Help is available for personal income tax returns (federal, state, local) and property tax/rent rebates as follows:

• Coudersport Senior Center, Wednesdays, March 23 and March 30, 9 am to 2 pm; call 274-7887 for an appointment.
• Galeton Senior Center, Thursday, March 24, 9 am to 2 pm; call 435-7702 for an appointment.
• Shinglehouse Senior Center, Tuesday,  March 22, 9 am to 2 pm; call 697-7178 for an appointment.

Those using this free service are asked to bring documents and records, such as Social Security card, a copy of last year’s return, W-2 forms, unemployment compensation statements, receipts, canceled checks and rent/property tax receipts.
