Galeton Woman Charged with Taking and Selling Man’s Prescriptions
1 min readGALETON – A Galeton woman was arrested on charges she took an elderly man’s prescriptions over the course of a year and sold them for profit.
Yolanda Marie Dusik, age 57, of Galeton, allegedly filled percocet prescriptions in the name of 72-year-old Edward Balch, which she later sold.
Dusik, who resides with Balch, is also accused of taking a Valium prescription belonging to him.
Police say Dusik has been taking the man’s medication and selling it over the course of year, between Jan. 2010 – Jan. 2011.
The total value of the medications was placed at $4,479.29.
Dusik was arraigned in front of District Judge Barbara Easton on charges of felony theft, felony drug distribution and possession of a controlled substance.
She was committed to the Tioga County jail after failing to post $1,000 bail.
