Genesee Man DUI in Route 49 Crash
1 min readGENESEE – Police say a Genesee man faces charges of Driving Under the Influence after an accident that occurred on Route 49 on December 20, 2010 at 10:43 pm.
The accident happened as 40-year-old Donald J. Hamilton Jr. was traveling South on Route 49. At approximately one mile North of the Burrel Road, Hamilton’s 2007 GMC Sierra traveled off the West side of the Roadway for approximately 100 feet, then crossed over both lanes of travel into the Northbound lane. Once in the Norhtbound lane, Hamilton’s vehicle traveled back across both lanes of travel and left the roadway on the West side, impacting the ‘Pennsylvania Welcomes You’ sign and then coming to rest facing North.
Hamilton, who was wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured in the accident.
Police say upon investigation they determined Hamilton to be under the influence of alcohol and placed him under arrest.
