Gov. Corbett Orders Flags at Half Staff in Honor of Erie Soldier Killed in Action

Governor Tom Corbett today ordered all U.S. and Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Erie County to be flown at half-staff in honor of U.S. Army Cpl. Jarrid King of Erie.

Cpl. King, 20, was killed by injuries sustained from an improvised explosive device, or IED, attack on Jan. 12 in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 7th Engineer Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
Flags should remain at half staff through sunset on Saturday, Jan. 22.

  1. No disrespect to any military personal who dies for this country. But if we lower our flag for him we should keep them lowered till every one is home safe.
