A local maple industry marketing program has received an economic shot in the arm. A Community Conservation Partnership awarded to the Pennsylvania Lumber Heritage Region will support the Potter-Tioga County Maple Producers in promoting the maple syrup industry.
Funds for the Community Conservation Partnership grants are generated from a portion of the realty transfer tax, ATV/snowmobile license fees and other sources. Among other grants:
-
$140,000 for the Pennsylvania Route 6 Heritage Corporation to support heritage work plans, coordinate an artisan trail, maintain mile markers and market Route 6 and its assets.
-
$150,000 to Northcentral Pa. Regional Planning and Development Commission to implement the Greenways and Open Space Plan in Potter, Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson and McKean counties.
