Greg Eldred Subject of FBI Investigation prior to Church Shooting

COUDERSPORT – Greg Eldred, the Coudersport Elementary music teacher accused of walking into a church on Sunday and fatally shooting his ex-wife Darlene Sitler, was the subject of an on-going FBI investigation before the shooting.

Officials with the FBI confirmed there was an investigation, but could not comment on the nature.

Agents were at Eldred’s home on Friday, and possibly at the elementary school.

Whether or not the investigation was motive for the shooting  is still unclear.

Eldred was originally scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing today.
