25-year-old Travis A. Webster, of Harrison Valley, was traveling West along Route 49, approximately .5 miles West of Harrison Valley, when he lost control of his 2006 Nissan Titan due to icy roads. The crash happened as Webster’s truck began sliding in a counter-clockwise direction on the ice-covered road and then traveled off the Southbound side of the roadway before striking a utility pole and continuing across a field before impacting a ditch and coming to rest.
Webster, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the crash and was able to extricate himself from the truck.
State Police were assisted on scene by members of the Harrison Valley Fire Department.
The truck was towed from the scene by Ted White Auto Transport.
Police say Webster will not be charged following the accident because of the sudden change in weather that caused the icy road conditions.
