Hazardous Weather Outlook for Weekend

1 min read

Whether or not we get additional snowfall before Christmas is not yet certain, however the National Weather Service has issued alerts for post-Christmas weather.

A strong winter weather system with snowfall accumulation may possibly move into our area on Sunday.

The National Weather Service in State College says low pressure is forecast to move off the Southeast coast on Sunday and then strengthen as it tracks Northeast near the Mid-Atlantic coast Sunday night into Monday. There is still some uncertainty in the exact track and timing of this system. Currently the threat of significant snowfall accumulation over the area is low… however a more Westward storm tracks would increase the potential for snow. The forecast will be refined as additional information becomes available and confidence increases with regards to the potential outcome. Post-Holiday travelers should continue to monitor the latest forecasts and outlooks from the National Weather Service.
