Help Available Locally For Medicare Programs

Counselors from Potter County Area Agency on Aging are available to help local Medicare recipients and others who are eligible for the program learn more about their coverage options. Appointments may be made by calling 1-800-800-2560. The counselors can answer questions about Medicare Parts A, B and D; Medicare Advantage Plans; Medicare Supplemental (sometimes called Medigap), and Medical Savings Programs for Part B and D. Some Medicare recipients may qualify for savings as high as 75 percent on their Part D prescription drug costs through the program’s “Extra Help” provision. Counselors can answer questions, review current coverage, check qualification for low-income programs, compare plans with all available options, search for specific plans that meet specific prescription and medical needs; and help beneficiaries enroll.
