Howard Man Facing Trial in Drive-By Shooting Case

BELLEFONTE — The night before 24-year-old Matthew Ross was shot with a blast of more than 150 pellets while driving to work on a snowy, icy December morning, his girlfriend text-messaged her ex, “I will never come back.”
It’s what police believe triggered the shooting which, “but for a bump in the road,” would have killed Ross, said District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller.
“I told the 911 operator that I had no reason that anyone else in the world could be responsible for this, other than Randy Brooks,” Ross testified at a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
