1 min read

From Potter County Today

auctionStaffers from the Potter County Tax Claim Bureau are at it again — working with hundreds of property owners in the county to help them meet their obligations and, more importantly, keep their holdings from hitting the public auction block in September. About 340 property owners still owe their 2009 local, school district and/or county taxes. If they fail to make payment arrangements by the close of business on Friday, July 15, their names and particulars on their properties will be publicly advertised. That moves the properties one step closer to being sold at the Tax Claim Bureau’s “upset sale” on Sept. 12.

The bureau has implemented a series of changes to make things easier for those who owe. Beginning in 2009, the TCB began accepting monthly installments on back taxes to make the redemption process easier for owner-occupied properties. TCB staffers gave also been personally contacting those who still owe their 2009 taxes, reminding them of their obligations and informing them of the monthly or quarterly payment options. The Tax Claim Bureau office is located in Suite 203 of the Gunzburger Building, 1 North Main Street, Coudersport PA 16915; telephone (814) 274-0488, Option 1.
