Hydraulic Fracturing Forum To Be Webcast Live On Tuesday

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 1 pm, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will host a forum on hydraulic fracturing for the production of natural gas. The forum will be streamed live via a link on the department’s homepage, accessible here. Please note that an icon will appear on that website on Tuesday directing users on how to view it.
One panel will discuss current hydraulic fracturing practices and their potential impacts. Participants will be Fred Toney, VP for pressure pumping, Baker Hughes; Sherri Stuewer, VP for environmental policy and planning, Exxon Mobil; Jim Kleckner, VP of operations for Anadarko; Peter Lehner, executive director of the Natural Resources Defense Council; and Steve Moyer, vice president for government affairs with Trout Unlimited.
A second panel will delve into regulatory considerations associated with hydraulic fracturing. Participating will be Steve Salzman, division chief for fluid minerals with the Bureau of Land Management; Douglas Duncan, associate coordinator for the U.S. Geological Survey’s Energy Resources Program; Tom Doll, supervisor of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission; and Mark Fesmire, director of the New Mexico Oil Conservation District.
