According to the Patriot-News of Harrisburg, the decision was made by Rendell’s administration, a tradition that dates back decades.
Gov-elect Tom Corbett will be sworn in on January 18, the day after Martin Luther King day. Although not all state workers will get the day off, the extra day will give some a 4-day weekend.
