IRS Extends Federal Income Tax Filing Deadline
1 min readFiling date extended by three days this year
The IRS has announced that the deadline for filing your federal income taxes has been extended to April 18, 2011 from April 15, 2011.
This move is a result of the celebration of Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia, which by law has the same effect as a federal holiday.
Taxpayers requesting an extension will have until October 17 to file their 2010 tax returns.
