Kinzua Rapist, Abductor to Face Federal Indictment

Mike Beaulieu faces federal indictment

Mike Beaulieu, the man who held a couple at gun-point in August at the Kinzua Dam, and then kidnapped the woman and later sexually assaulted her, will face a federal indictment.

State Police have dropped charges against Beaulieu in light of the federal indictment.

Since the crimes were committed within the Allegheny National Forest, federal jurisdiction super-cedes state charges, which will alleviate the financial burden from Warren county and state taxpayers, as such a high profile trial may possibly require a great deal of manpower and resources.

Beaulieu now faces federal Kidnapping and Rape charges from the August 3 attack.
