Knoxville Man Dies in Crash
1 min readWESTFIELD – Shane Burke, 22, of Knoxville, was killed in a motor vehicle accident early Saturday morning.
Police say Burke was driving west on Route 49 in a 2003 Chrysler Sebring when for unknown reasons he crossed the center line and struck a tractor being driven by Stanley Brubaker, 68, of Westfield.
Brubaker tried unsuccessfully to steer the tractor out of Burke’s path. Burke was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
Burke died as the result of multiple blunt force traumas. Tioga County Deputy Coroner Robert Gee pronounced Burke dead at the scene.
Brubaker was not injured during the accident.
