Lewis Run Bridge Job Delayed another Week
1 min readStart of Detour for Lewis Run Bridge Job Delayed One More Week. Detour will now start June 25.
BRADFORD – Work to replace a structurally deficient bridge in Lewis Run has been underway since early May. The bridge spans Lewis Run on Route 4001 (Lafayette Avenue/Big Shanty Road) in the borough of Lewis Run. Replacing the bridge with a new concrete arch structure will shorten the list of structurally deficient bridges in McKean County by one.
A detour is part of the project, so that the current bridge can be removed and the new one built. Implementation of the detour has been pushed back for a second time and will now start June 25. PennDOT originally expected the detour to be in place June 11 and then June 18 but it has now been delayed one more week in order to complete all preliminary work. The detour is expected to last through late August. The detour route will use Route 4001, Route 59, and Route 219.
All work is weather and schedule dependent. L.C. Whitford of Wellsville, New York is the contractor on this $1.3 million project. All work on this project is scheduled to be finished in late September.
