1 min readKITTANNING, Pa. — A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after being injured by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday morning.
Police said Sgt. Ken Markilinski was struck on a ramp leading to Route 28 from Route 422 in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County, along the southbound lanes of Route 28 near the Kittanning exit.
Markilinski was outside his unmarked police car removing debris from the road when the hit-and-run happened just before 7 a.m., Trooper Dan Kesten said.
