A Potter County nature photographer and an active community volunteer is among this year’s “Champions of the Pennsylvania Wilds.” That puts Curt Weinhold of Coudersport in a small group of business owners, citizens and organizations from across the 13-county Pennsylvania Wilds region recognized for their contributions in sustainable tourism development. This year’s winners, to be honored on Thursday during a luncheon in St. Marys, have made outstanding efforts related to economic development, planning, community revitalization, community character stewardship and conservation.
Weinhold, a Pennsylvania Wilds juried artisan and avid outdoorsman, uses his professional photography skills to encourage preservation and wise usage of scenic and natural resources. Weinhold has donated his time and talents to numerous community organizations, including the Potter County Planning Commission, Coudersport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Potter County Natural Gas Task Force.
