Local Firefighters Complete Basic Vehicle Rescue Course
1 min readA group of 21 local firefighters from Potter, McKean, and Cameron counties recently completed the 48-hour Basic Vehicle Rescue course held at the Tri-Town Fire Company in Ulysses. This course is jointly sponsored by the State Fire Academy and the Pa. Dept. of Health EMS Office. Rescue personnel who complete the course are equipped with skills to achieve a safe and efficient vehicle rescue operation, with a focus on hazard recognition and control, incident command, situational assessment, and personal protection, in addition to the tools, equipment, and techniques of vehicle rescue. Firefighters and rescue personnel from the following departments participated: Tri-Town (Ulysses), Genesee, Goodyear (Galeton), Harrison Township, Sinnemahoning and Bradford.
