Luke T. Russell, 24, of Coudersport, PA died unexpectedly Friday, April 1, 2011 at Warren State Hospital in Warren, PA.

Luke was born on March 19, 1987 in Bradford County. He was the son of Thomas D. and Patricia R. Tucker Russell.

He was a 2005 graduate of Coudersport High School. He loved music and art and especially enjoyed playing the drums. While in school he received a lot of art awards. Luke was a member of Park United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his parents of Coudersport, his paternal grandmother, Leah “Peach” Russell of Coudersport, his maternal grandparents, Edgar and Dorla Kelligan Tucker of Coudersport, his maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Allen of Coudersport, one sister, Katie Annis of Bloomsburg, two nieces, Alexis and Sophia, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to Luke’s Life Celebration on Sunday, April 10, 2011 with a memorial service to be held at 2:00pm at Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport with his pastor, Reverend Scott Ogden, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00p until the time of the service. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery at Five Corners at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Park United Methodist Church, 15 E. Third St., Coudersport, PA 16915, or to the Potter County Yellow Ribbon, c/o Mr. John Leete, 423 Anson Road, Coudersport, PA 16915, or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fickinger Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, of Coudersport.

  1. Mr. and Mrs. Russell, I’m so terribly sorry to hear about Luke. I’ve been living/working in Virginia for the last six years. Every once in a while I type in some of the names of my Coudersport students to see if there’s any news. Luke was very special to me and I wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this sorrowful time. Susan
