Major Accident in Wellsville Today May Have Resulted in Fatality

Unconfirmed reports of fatality as result of accident in Wellsville today

WELLSVILLE – Details are still sketchy and law enforcement officials are busy investigating what appears to have been a major accident today on State Route 417 (the Andover Road) east of Wellsville, NY.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least one victim of the accident died as the result of injuries sustained.

Multiple ambulances were dispatched to transport and aid what is believed to have been 8+ victims of the accident.

Some ambulances needed to return to the scene of the accident after transporting patients to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville.

MercyFlight5 also made a return trip to a landing zone in Wellsville for an additional extraction.

Amity-based State Police are currently investigating the accident.

Medical personnel were called in this evening for a debriefing.

Officials are expected to officially release details late this evening or early tomorrow morning.
