A Springville woman is dead after being thrown from the back of a motorcycle Sunday night, and the driver of the bike is charged with vehicular manslaughter.
State police say 48-year-old Beth Szymanski was a passenger on a motorcycle operated by 54-year-old Ronald Tackentien of Collins. At around 10:15, Tackentien lost control of the bike and it traveled into the opposite lane of the road and onto the shoulder.
Szymanski was pronounced dead at the scene. Tackentien was taken to ECMC with minor injuries and was given a blood-alcohol test. After that, he was charged with felony driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter.
