ROULETTE – State Police in Coudersport say a deer was to blame for delaying Medic 6 while en route to an emergency call.

Police say the emergency response vehicle, a 2008 GMC Yukon, became disabled after striking a deer along Route 6 at 4:20 am on December 24.

The medic and driver of the SUV, 44-year-old Charlotte Nelson, was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured. She was later transported to the emergency call after assistance from police and Roulette Ambulance personnel.

Police say the deer died as a result of the impact.
