Missing Woman left Psych. Hospital prior to taking Kids and Disappearing, Officials fear for Children’s Safety

A Hornell, NY woman, who has been missing since July 21, checked herself out of the psychiatric unit of a hospital last week, and then went missing with her children, according to police.
Authorities also believe that Alicia Appleton may be in the company of Eric Trumbull, age 26. Officials say they have concerns for the physical well-being of Appleton’s children.
The following is from the NY State Police:
Alicia Appleton, and her two children, Alexis J. Slayton and David C. Slayton are possibly in the company of Eric L. Trumbull. They left the City of Hornell area on 07/21/11, with the children, on foot. They obtained a ride to the Giant Food Supermarket parking lot located in the Village of Wellsville, NY, and were seen walking along the railroad tracks in Arkport, N.Y. There are concerns about the children’s physical well being, as well as that of Appleton. They are possibly headed to the Bradford, PA, area.
- ALEXIS SLAYTON is a white female, age 8, with brown hair, 4′ tall and 50 lbs.
- DAVID SLAYTON is a white male, age 6, with brown hair, 3′ tall and 30 lbs.
- ERIC TRUMBULL is a white male age 26, 5′ 10″ tall, 160 lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes.
