New Texting Law in NY
1 min readALBANY, NY – New York Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday signed a new law prohibiting texting while driving.
The law makes texting while driving a primary offense, which means police will now be able to stop drivers simply for texting.
The law also includes interacting with email or the internet, playing games, taking pictures or using handheld devices.
Excellent. Bring it to the rest of the United States, especially FLORIDA!
I was almost run off the interstate several times down here in Florida by a semi tractor trailer. It was 9am and I thought the driver was either drunk or falling asleep. When I finally managed to pass him after maneuvering around his trailor’s back end which was swinging across three lanes of highway, I saw that he was TEXTING.
There should be a law against eatting, reading books and newspapers, shaving and applying make-up, changing clothing, and being “too close” to your passanger & other such activities.
