New Video in Gasland Director Josh Fox’s Arrest
1 min readGasland Director Josh Fox was arrested yesterday while attempting to videotape a House Energy and Environment Subcommittee meeting on hydraulic fracturing.
Fox was arrested before the meeting began. An ABC news crew was also turned away from the hearing, but none of them were arrested.
Fox, whose film Gasland received an Oscar nomination, was at the meeting to shoot footage for a new documentary to be aired on HBO.
Fox reportedly shouted that he was well within his First Amendment rights to be at the meeting and filming it, while he was being escorted out in handcuffs.
Ironically, the entire meeting was videotaped and live-streamed by the subcommittee.
