No Injuries in Dump Truck Crash on Route 449
1 min readULYSSES TWP. – An Eldred man escaped injury in a dump truck crash on Route 449 on Thursday, June 23.
Police say 31-year-old Steven C. James was operating a 1999 Mack truck, approximately one mile north of Route 6, when he swerved to the right to avoid a vehicle stopped in his lane. Police say James was unable to stop in time, veered to the right, hit a guardrail and then went down over an embankment.
The truck suffered disabling damage in the crash and was towed from the scene.
Police say James will be issued a warning for driving too fast.
Galeton Fire, Medic 6, PennDOT and Portville Trucking all assisted at the scene.
