2 min readNorma L. McCollough KELLOGG, 81, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of Ceres, PA, died Monday, September 19, 2011 in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
Born February 3, 1930, in Little Genesee, NY, she was the daughter of Nieure and Edna Marsh Lewis.
A 1948 graduate of Bolivar Central High School, she was a liberal arts major at Syracuse University.
She was employed by American Olean Tile Co. as a senior designer and AVX, both in Olean, NY, retiring in 1992. A resident of Ulysses since 2006, she resided in Ceres, PA for over 30 years and Holland, NY for 17 years.
An artist, she painted original wet water color paintings for over 50 years and had works exhibited in the Buffalo Science Museum, the Albright Knox Museum of Art, and the Allentown art shows. She was a member of the Buffalo Society of Artists. In addition to her career, Norma was a member of the United Methodist Church, a cub scout den mother, garden club member, and taught art classes to local art enthusiasts.
Surviving are: two sons, Curtis (Jacki) McCollough of Yorkshire, NY and Kent (Ruth) McCollough of Wellsville, NY; two daughters, Maureen (Dale) Marshall of Brandon, NY and Susan (Richard) Erickson of Ulysses; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Art (Karen) Lewis of Sharon, PA; four sisters, Kay (James) Webster of Oberlin, OH, Sharon (James) Leonard of Little Genesee, Bev Morris of Little Genesee, and Cindy (Fred) Unverdorben of Portville, NY; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Miranda Wright; five brothers, William, Russ, Steve, Nieure Jr., and Jerry; and a sister, Susie Lewis.
Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM. A graveside service will follow in Fox Hill Cemetery, Ulysses.
