North Woods Kidnapping Report Leads to DUI Arrest
1 min readCOUDERSPORT – State Police say a report of a possible kidnapping led to the arrest of a Florida man in Coudersport on September 18.
Police say they received a report of a possible kidnapping from the North Woods Tavern in Coudersport, and were provided a description of a white Ford Expedition. The vehicle was located traveling east on Route 6 near Paul’s Motel, and a traffic stop was initiated.
Police say an investigation determined the kidnapping to be unfounded, but police did discover the driver of the Ford Expedition, 40-year-old Christopher Johnson, of Webster, FL, to be driving under the influence.
As a result, police have charged Johnson with two counts of DUI(M1), Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked(S1), Careless Driving(S1), Registration and Certificate of Title Required(S1), Unauthorized transfer or use of Registration(S1), and Investigation by Police Officers(S1).
Johnson was charged in District Court 55-3-01.
