Ontario Man Life-flighted following Motorcycle Crash
1 min readABBOTT TWP. – An Ontario man was flown to Altoona Regional Hospital following a crash on the Route 44 Thursday, September 29.
Police say 57-year-old Wayne F. Peddle was traveling south along Route 44 on a 2003 Harley Davidson, approximately 1.5 miles south of Route 2002, when he encountered gravel in the roadway while negotiating a left-hand curve.
After hitting the gravel, Peddle’s motorcycle overturned onto its left side and then slid off the roadway onto the western shoulder and into a ditch.
Peddle suffered several broken ribs and a broken leg in the crash. He was transported to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital by ambulance and later flown to Altoona.
Police say the accident was determined to be caused as a result of an environmental factor, therefore no charges will be filed.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Galeton EMS, Medic 6 and the PA Game Commission.
