Outreach Visits For Potter County Veterans

Potter County Veterans Affairs Director Byron Sutton has announced upcoming field visits. He’ll be at the Galeton VFW on Saturday, Jan. 7, from 9-11 am; and at American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport on Jan. 25 from 1-3 pm. Sutton is anxious to meet with area military veterans and/or their family members to discuss benefit programs, such as health care, pensions and disability compensation, and to assist them in any other way.

He emphasized that benefit programs are frequently changing, including a new initiative to help those veterans who may have been exposed to radiation as part of their service.  Sutton, a Galeton native, succeeded Leonard Kalkbrenner Jr., who retired in September. His office is in the F. W. Gunzburger County Office Building at 1 North Main Street in Coudersport and is open Mondays and Tuesdays, 9 am to 3 pm, and other days by appointment.
