FAIRFIELD, Pa. — A wildlife conservation officer has been shot and killed in the line of duty in central Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Game Commission spokesman Jerry Feaser says the officer was fatally shot Thursday night in Freedom Township, near Gettysburg. Feaser would not release the identity of the officer.

Update: Police are searching for a man named Christopher Lynn Johnson, who is listed as a person of interest in the shooting. Police say Johnson may be injured and in need of medical attention.
Police also say that Johnson should be considered Armed and Dangerous.
This is the first time since 1915 that a PA Game Commission officer has been killed in the line of duty.
