State Sen. Raphael Musto was indicted by a federal grand jury today on charges that he accepted tens of thousands of dollars in bribes and kickbacks from an unnamed company after supporting the company’s efforts to secure state grants.
The Pittston Township Democrat also received a $3,000 payment from an unnamed official with a municipal authority in October 2009 as a reward for supporting state support for the authority, the indictment says.
The six-count indictment charges him with wire fraud, mail fraud, receipt of a bribe or reward for official action and making false statements to government agents.
