2 min readDale H. Weik, Jr., 42, Lititz, PA passed away in a tragic accident Saturday October 8th and is now resting in the arms of his heavenly father and family members that have preceded him in death. Dale was born November 29, 1968 in Lebanon, PA.
Dale’s greatest joys in life were his wife, children, family, and friends. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including skiing, fishing, hunting, dirt biking, motorcycling, family trips to the beach, and camping getaways. Dale’s dream was to travel and share the experience of seeing the world with his wife and children.
Dale owned and operated Weik’s Woodworking for fifteen years. As a child, Dale’s inspiration for woodworking came from helping his “Pop” and Ted on many restoration projects. This allowed him to develop his unique skills to become a well regarded craftsman.
Dale’s presence and wonderful spirit will be incredibly missed in the lives of all those he has touched.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife Amy L., are two wonderful children Olivia and Tanner. Mother Donna L. Horst, Newmanstown, Father Dale H. Weik Sr. husband of Theresa Newmanstown, and stepfather Jonathan (Pop) Horst husband of Dawn Robesonia, and father-in-law Howard A. Buffenmeyer, Schaefferstown, PA. Grandparents Alice Levengood, Lebanon and Jon and Carolyn Horst, Akron.
Also surviving are siblings Ryan Horst of Newmanstown, Stephanie Horst O’Connor wife of Eric, and Niece Naomi of Park City, UT. Brother βin β law Adam Buffenmeyer husband of Allyson J. and Niece Addison of Myerstown. Aunt Brenda and Uncle Terry Wetzel of Newmanstown, cousin Jamison Wetzel husband of Kimberly Newmanstown. Brothers, Kirk Weik and Shawn Weik. And, many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and dear friends.
Dale was preceded in death by Grandparents Howard and Mary Weik, Luke and Rosena Levengood, and Mother-in-law Kay V. Buffenmeyer.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon October 16th at 2:00 pm in St. Paul’s UCC Church, Schaefferstown, PA. Friends and family are invited to share memories and celebrate Dale’s life at a gathering directly following the service at the Schaefferstown Fire Hall.
