Passing of Ernest C. Hunt, 84, of Genesee, PA

Ernest C. Hunt, 84, of Genesee, PA, died Monday, November 14, 2011 in the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.  

Born September 25, 1927, in Genesee, he was the son of Lovell F. and Helen C. Tallman Hunt.

On June 10, 1950, in Austinburg, PA, he married the former Leila Bathrick, who survives.

He was employed as a truck driver by Hulbert Forward Co., Ryder Transport, M&G Convoy, Destiny Transport in Genesee, and Mundy Brook Farm.  He was a member of the Ellisburg Union Church, the Genesee United Methodist Church, Lewisville Lodge #556, F&AM in Ulysses, the Coudersport Consistory, and served as president of the Genesee Cemetery Association.

Surviving besides his wife, Leila, are:  two sons, Edward E. Hunt of Stuart, FL and Gary (Linda) Hunt of Whitesville, NY;  two daughters, Stephanie Scarkino of Lathrop, MO and Helen Candace (Pete) Hunt of Charleston, SC;  six grandchildren;  four great-grandchildren;  a brother, Arthur (Barbara) Hunt of West Coxsackie, NY;  and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Theodore J. Hunt in 2002;  and a sister, Mary Donna Kear in 2009.

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM, with a Masonic Service at 8:30 PM.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday in the Ellisburg Union Church.  The Rev. Paul M. Karges, Pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be Genesee Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
