Passing of Learoyd A. Abbey, 82, of Sabinsville, PA

Learoyd A. ABBEY, 82, of Sabinsville, PA, died Monday, July 23, 2012 in the Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA.

Born January 11, 1930, in Mills, PA, he was the son of Lloyd and Iona McCullough Abbey.  He was employed as a mason and carpenter and worked in the gas fields.

Surviving are:  his wife, Donna Putman Abbey;  seven daughters, Lillian (Ed) Becker of Sabinsville, Twyla (Les) Brickman of Kenya, Africa, Abigail (Charles) Haley of Petersburg, VA, Rhonda (Charles) Paules-Tipton of Harrisburg, PA, Alois (Gregory) Hurler of Westfield, Lorraine (Larry Scharr) Abbey of Austinburg, PA, Charlene (Dale) Youse of Westfield;  three sons, Wade (Shelly) Putman of Westfield, Todd (Sharley Haner) Putman of Westfield, and Redrum (Colorado Hintz) Abbey of Sabinsville;  many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;  a sister, Julia Goodworth of Gaines, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Putman;  a brother, Gareth Abbey;  and a sister, Beryl Jean Trowbridge.  A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in theRiverview Cemetery, Potter Brook, PA.  The Rev. David Brelo will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
