Passing of Stephen P. Photopoulos, 79, of Ulysses

Stephen P. Photopoulos, 79, of Ulysses, PA, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA.

Born August 10, 1932, in Kastoria, Greece, he was the son of Peter Stephen and Athena Photopoulos.

On December 4, 1955, in Atlantic City, NJ, he married the former Catherine H. Reres, who survives. He owned and operated The Chateau in Ardmore, PA for 25 years and the Brass Balloon in Wellsville, NY for 10 years.  He was a longtime member of St. Luke Greek Orthodox Church in Broomall, PA and a member of Lewisville Lodge #556 F&AM in Ulysses.

Surviving besides his wife, Catherine, are:  three sons, Peter S. (Maria) Photopoulos of Lexington, NC, Anthony S. (Lisa) Photopoulos of Pottstown, PA, and Stephen S. (Kelly) Photopoulos of Pittsburgh, PA;  three daughters, Jioanna Carjuzza of Bozeman, MT, Athena (Steven) Levy of Boulder, CO, and Stephanie (Jerrold) Walsh of Willow Grove, PA;  eight grandchildren;  one great-grandson;  a brother, Anthony P. (Petroula) Photopoulos of Ardmore, PA;  a sister, Catherine Zarros of Kastoria, Greece;  nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Dena.

Friends may attend Funeral Services 11:00 AM, Monday, June 18, 2012 in All Saints Episcopal Church, Brookland, PA.  Fr. George Zervos, Pastor of St. Nicholas Greek Othodox Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Brookland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tri-Town Volunteer Ambulance, Ulysses, PA 16948.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA.
