UNIVERSITY PARK — About 50 to 75 Penn State students gathered on campus at the Shields Building to protest tuition bills that continue to spiral upward.
A typical in-state undergraduate student is paying about $15,000 for tuition in 2010-11, including fees, about $7,500 a semester. Out of state students are paying about $26,000 for the year.
That number has been going up every year. University officials point to flat state funding. Tuition for in-state students jumped 5.9 percent this year.
