Police Awaiting DNA Results in Rebert's Case
1 min readNY – NY State police are waiting for DNA testing on a cigarette butt found at a murder scene that could tie Steven Rebert, of Emporium and formerly of Coudersport, who was recently charged in PA with murdering James and Vicky Shugar, to two other unsolved murders in NY State.
PA State Police contacted NY Police after their investigation into the Shugar Murders found that Rebert had searched Google for information pertaining to two unsolved murder cases in NY.
Police say it could be months before DNA test results come back, but if the tests are conclusive, it would likely be the break police need to tie Rebert to the unsolved murders.
