Police Investigating Harrison Valley Car Dealer

HARRISON VALLEY – State Police in Coudersport say they are investigating an act of theft by Larry Metcalf, age 52, of Harrison Valley, acting on behalf of Bear’s Garage.

Police say 26-year-old Shyla Odell, of Lawrenceville, PA, purchased a reconstructed 2009 Chevy Malibu from Bear’s Garage on March 1, 2011, and made payments on the vehicle for several months while the car was being repaired by the garage.

Police say on September 21 Odell went to pick up the vehicle, but was told by Metcalf that it had been totaled in an accident.

Police say an investigation found the vehicle had actually been purchased by a known individual and registered in Pennsylvania.

Police say an investigation into the matter continues. Charges, if any, against Bear’s Garage or Metcalf were not listed in a news release.
