Police Investigating Theft by Deception
1 min readPORTAGE TWP. – State Police in Coudersport say they are investigating an incident of Theft by Deception in which a vehicle was sold to an Austin man without a title.
Police did not list the accused in a news release, but did say 50-year-old James W. Nichols, Sr., of Galeton was the victim of the crime.
The car was sold to Nichols in August of this year. A news release indicated the vehicle was purchased from 44 Burleson Ave., Roulette, PA.
Police say he was never able to register or operate the vehicle.
An investigation continues, according to police.
