Police Make Arrests in Assault, Robbery of Elderly Warren Man

This is a follow-up report on last week’s story, where a 90-yr-old Warren man was reportedly robbed in his basement.

A man and a woman have been arrested for attacking and robbing an elderly Warren County man last week.

45-year-old Richard Otero of Erie and 35-year-old Eugenia Muzzy of Spartansburg are each charged with robbery, burglary, theft and simple assault.

Police say 89-year-old Matthew Wojtowicz went to his basement at around 10:35 p.m. after his power went out. In the basement, Otero and Muzzy attacked him, bound his hands with duct tape and put a pillow case over his head.

They took cash from his pockets and left the house.

Otero and Muzzy are in Warren County Jail on $100,000 bail.
