Police Seeking Driver after Crash Claims Wellsboro Woman’s Life
1 min readNew York State Police are searching for the driver of a red vehicle, after an accident claimed the life of a Wellsboro woman, Monday afternoon.
Police say Carol Schwatz, 68, of Wellsboro, died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 13 in the town of Veteran.
Schwartz was driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander, which collided with a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 26-year-old Julia Cribb, of Florence, S.C.
Schwartz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cribb was transported to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where here condition was listed as critical.
According to police, witnesses told them Cribb was following an unidentified red vehicle just before the accident. Police say they are searching for the driver of that vehicle.
