SPRING MILLS, CENTRE COUNTY – Despite the horrific events involving guns that continue to occur, such as the tragedy in Tucson, poll numbers indicate that support for gun control is actually on the downslide. Gallup says support for stricter gun laws has been fading since 1990.
In 1990, the Gallup poll showed more than 75 percent of people questioned tougher gun laws. Last year, Gallup polled on that same issue and numbers had gone down to less than 50 percent.
