Potter County Boys/Girls Club Seeks More Volunteers
1 min readFrom Potter County Today
Potter County Boys and Girls Club is seeking more people to become involved, whether as committee members or volunteers. A steering committee reviewed the latest developments in establishing the club during a meeting on Wednesday. Goal of the committee is to establish a safe, structured environment for children during non-school hours, in addition to sponsoring life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.
A wide variety of activities are offered at the clubs, from video gaming to computer programs, hobby groups, life skills, education and career focuses and the arts. The presence of such clubs in a community can help keep young people out of the trouble which can arise from lack of after-school structured activities and parental supervision. Plans call for a “fully equipped facility offering daily programs promoting health, social education, vocational and career development” for ages six to 18.
Financial support is always welcome. Contributions can be dropped off or mailed to Nancy Grupp, Northwest Savings Bank, 302 N. East St., Coudersport PA 16915. Checks should be made out to Boys & Girls Club of Potter County. The club has its own Facebook page, entitled Potter County Boys and Girls Club.
