Potter County Employees win Health Competition

A group of Potter County employees accepted the trophy for winning the Steps to a Healthier You competition recently.
The six-week wellness initiative included tracking minutes of weekly physical activity among participants: Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Austin School District, Coudersport School District, Galeton School District, Northern Potter School District, Oswayo Valley School District, Otto-Eldred School District, Port Allegany School District, and Potter County employees.
Austin had the largest percentage of participants.
A pre and post evaluation was completed by the employees and at the completion of the six week activity challenge the following was noted: 22% improvement in respondents indicating they exercised at least 3 times per week, 14% improvement in respondents indicating they exercised at least 5 times per week, 11% improvement in those stating they felt healthy, 7% improvement in those eating 5 servings of fruit and vegetables daily.
