Carl Long, Potter County Republican Chairman, has announced that State Senator Joseph Scarnati and US Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson have confirmed their active role in the county-wide “Republican Leadership Workshop” to be held at the Potato City Inn this April 4th.
The Republican Leadership Workshop is an event at which federal and state level legislators and/or delegates are invited to speak on issues that will empower those seeking, or currently serving in, leadership positions on the local level, through stronger collaborations and communications, while also creating a face-to-face venue at which local concerns can be heard.
According to Long, “the workshop is an opportunity for those serving in leadership positions, as well as those wanting to get involved, to obtain information aimed at equipping them with the tools and insight necessary to perform their roles more effectively.”
The topics covered in this year’s Leadership Workshop include, “Why to Get Involved” and “How to Lead Effectively”. D. Bruce Cahilly, former Republican County Chairman, will also speak on the “Then and Now” of Potter County based on his 15-years of volunteer service and the obstacles and triumphs he had witnessed over that time.
Social hour begins at 5:30 with a buffet-style dinner to be served at 6:30, prior to the workshop presentations scheduled to begin at 7:00. Tickets for the workshop will be available until Monday, March 26th at $15/person and $25/couple by calling Betsy and Carl Long at (814) 274-8212.
