Potter County Voters Contribute To Republican Sweep

Voter turnout was just under 50 percent in Potter County and those who did cast ballots gave a boost to the successful candidates, all Republicans. With all 33 voting precincts in Potter County reporting their unofficial results to the Board of Elections, tally was as follows:
U.S. Senator — Pat Toomey (Republican) 4,020; Joe Sestak (Democrat) 1,401.
Governor and Lieutenant Governor – Tom Corbett/Jim Cawley (Republicans) 4,158; Dan Onorato/H. Scott Conklin (Democrats), 1,285.
Representative in Congress from the 5th District — Glenn Thompson (Republican) 4,259; Michael Pipe (Democrat) 1,035; Vernon L. Etzel (Libertarian) 140.
Final unofficial statewide results showed Corbett/Cawley with 54.5% and Onorato/Conklin with 45.5%; Toomey with 51% and Sestak with 49%.
Congressman Thompson won a second two-year term. Unofficial 5th District results were 68.6% for Thompson, 28.3% for Pipe and 3.1 percent for Etzel.
Well, at least their are 140 freedom loving sane people in the county.
