Power, Internet Restored after Downed Trees Cause Outages

COUDERSPORT – Many area residents (including our newsroom) were without power and internet service for several hours yesterday afternoon.

The outage occurred after a tree apparently fell on top of a handful of power lines near the Coudersport Consistory. It was unclear whether or not the tree was struck by lightning, or fell by wind.

Employees from Empereon Marketing were reportedly sent home due to their inability to conduct business without internet access.

Crews from Zito Media worked for several hours yesterday repairing the lines and restoring internet service.

As of this morning, it appears all internet and electrical services have been restored.
